Hark The Herald Angel Sing - part 4
Christ, by highest heaven adored,
Christ, the everlasting Lord,
And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6b
The child awaited was to be someone eternal, everlasting in His person and His kingdom. Isaiah foretold that it would be the zeal of the LORD (Yahweh) of hosts who would accomplish this. (Isa. 9:7). Jesus who was given the name above every name, Jesus the messiah was born into the world for this express purpose. This same Jesus is also the word, of whom John speaks who was with God and was God (John 1:1). His glory stretches beyond the beginning and yet enters into history to author salvation for His people in the humble stable in Bethlehem.
He came from the adoration of heaven into our world and by His sacrifice founded His kingdom to which there is no end.
As we celebrate the birth of Christ we should be in awe of God’s incredible action. For the sake of the people He would save to Himself He became the child born unto us. He became the son unto us given.
He was already adored in the heavens, He was already the rightful recipient of all glory, and yet He came.
Is the one adored by the highest heavens adored in your heart? Have you considered the one who will reign forever and ever came for you and I?
Let us pray this Advent Season that the Lord would capture our hearts with awe. Let us behold our God and this great act of love! Let us Adore Him!
